Warren Smith played high school soccer at Millbrook High School under Head Coach Danny Wilkins, an Atlantic Christian College/Barton College alumnus.
After one season (1988-89) at Campbell University, Warren transferred to ACC/Barton College where he played men’s soccer for four seasons (1989-92) and became one of the greatest goalkeepers in Bulldogs’ history.
In 1991, Warren helped spearhead one of the best seasons in school history. The Bulldogs went 12-3-2 on the year including a 6-0-1 mark in league play and a share of the Carolinas Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIAC) Regular Season Championship.
For his efforts, Warren was named to the all-league first team and earned NAIA All-District 26 honors in 1991.
One of the best and most memorable games during Warren’s collegiate career came in 1992 when he defended the goal for Barton in a 1-0 win over East Carolina on Homecoming.
Warren was also extremely active on campus, serving as President of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and was named Barton College Greek Man of the Year in 1993.
Warren is currently President and Owner of L and L of Raleigh, N.C., as custom home builder inside the beltline and around Wake County.
Warren is a 1993 graduate of Barton College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance.
Warren and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of three children – Sarah, Julie (“Lilly”) and James – and three dogs: Bandit, Butterball and Stella. The family resides in Raleigh, N.C.
