Ed Carraway enjoyed an outstanding career in basketball during high school and his four years at Atlantic Christian. While at Greene Central High School, he made the All Conference team for four years and was named All-State two years. He was selected for the Prep All American Team and the East-West All Star Team in 1965, and in that same year was chosen as Athlete of the Year.

He received a full basketball scholarship to Atlantic Christian where he played 1965-69. He was named AC’s Most Valuable Player in 1966 and 1968, and was chosen for the All Tournament team in 1967. Carraway graduated from Atlantic Christian with a Bachelor of Science degree in business in 1969. Today he serves as a sales representative for the Georgia-Pacific Corp., in Greenville, N.C.

Reared in Greene County, he is a 1965 graduate of Snow Hill High School. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby caraway of Kinston, he is married to the former Ann Trip. They have three children. He is a member of the Maury Methodist Church, Maury, but currently attends Ayden Christian Church. He taught Sunday School for two years. Today he plays golf for recreation and has served on the board of directors of the Ayden Golf and Country Club.
