WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College Division of Athletics has announced the hiring of
Evie Kenna as Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach.
Kenna spent this past 2022 season as an Assistant Coach for the Bulldogs and headed up the team's developmental squad this fall as well.
"
As an alumni of the program, Evie (Kenna) has a passion and love for Barton Women's Soccer," said Britney Woodhull-Smith, Barton College Interim Director of Athletics. "
She has stepped up greatly through this transition to manage a significant amount of the administrative details behind the scenes. She knows the program and has a vision to help get us back on track. We are excited to see her continue to grow in this role."
Kenna is a three-year starter and two-year All-Conference Carolinas honoree (Spring and Fall of 2021) for the Bulldogs and finished with a half-dozen goals in a Barton uniform.
"
After being the assistant for the last year, I am really excited to take on this new role," said Kenna. "
This program and the girls are special, and we want to show that. I look forward to building on the culture and creating an environment where we can represent the college and the community with pride."
Kenna, a native of Aldershot, ENGLAND, graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021 from Barton with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Prior to coming to Barton, Kenna played two seasons at UMBC (2017 and 2018).
