PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (4-11-1, 3-9-1) saw its 2025 season come to an end with a 2-0 setback to UNC Pembroke (9-6-1, 9-3-1) Saturday afternoon at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The Braves, which swept the season series from the Bulldogs, will be the third seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championship and will host either sixth-seeded Chowan or 11th-seeded Ferrum on Saturday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m.
The Braves received goals courtesy of Mercy Bell (Jacksonville, N.C.) and Maya McDonald (Whiteville, N.C.) in the first half. McDonald's score came just 22 seconds before halftime to put the home team in control.
The Braves held a 25-4 edge in shots taken while Addison Ellsworth (Greensboro, N.C.) stopped a pair of shots to earn the complete game shutout victory in goal. Barton freshman goalkeeper
