LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Barton College's
Mason Chaney has been named to the USILA/Dynamic NCAA Division II National Team of the Week. USILA is the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Chaney, a sophomore attacker from Dunkirk, Md., finished with 13 points – nine goals and four assists – last week in leading Barton to victories over Davis & Elkins (20-8) and Lander (15-10) on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Chaney scored six goals in the win over the Senators and was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Chaney, a 2018-19 all-league honoree, is the second player to be named to the national team of the week for the Bulldogs: freshman midfielder
J.J. Mitchell (Winston-Salem, N.C.) was the other two weeks ago.
Chaney ranks second on the team in goals scored (17) and total points (25) this spring.
Barton (5-3) opens Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to Belmont, N.C., to take on Belmont Abbey beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) is an organization comprised of member colleges and universities which sponsor intercollegiate lacrosse for men.
The Association is entrusted to enhance and develop intercollegiate lacrosse by providing leadership, management, and services to its membership so that student-athletes, coaches, and other constituent groups will realize the maximum benefit from the sport of lacrosse.
