BELMONT, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (4-7, 2-3) fell to Belmont Abbey (9-3, 5-0) by a 16-6 score in a Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

The Crusaders' Brendan Boschi (Litchfield, N.H.) scored a game-high four goals and added a pair of assists for six total points as Belmont Abbey remained unbeaten atop the league standings.

Barton junior midfielders Tim Blanch (Duxbury, Mass.) and Gabe Thompson (Endicott, N.Y.) both finished with a goal and an assist in the setback.

Belmont Abbey jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in pushing its winning streak to six games.  The Crusaders held advantages in both shots taken (48-25) and ground balls (40-23) in the triumph as well.

In goal, Belmont Abbey's Eddie Kielkopf (Saint Paul, Minn.) tallied five saves and picked up the victory while Barton senior graduate student Luke Woollard (Kent, ENGLAND) made eight stops but suffered the loss.
