ROME, Ga. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (5-7, 3-3) scored a 25-1 victory over Shorter (0-11, 0-6) Friday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at Ben Brady Field.
Barton senior midfielder
Justin Washington (Humble, Texas) scored a season-high four goals and eight more Bulldogs scored twice to lead visitors to the easy triumph.
Junior attacker
Nick Pomilio (Raleigh, N.C.) totaled four points – a pair of goals and two assists – as well for the Bulldogs, who held advantages in both shots taken (42-6) and ground balls (21-8) in the victory.
Barton freshman goalkeeper
Jordan Bench (Greenfield Center, N.Y.) made a pair of stops to earn the save while Ethan Reeves (Kennesaw, Ga.) made 10 stops in goal but suffered the loss for the Hawks, who remained winless on the year.
Barton returns home to take on Young Harris next Saturday, April 11, beginning at 2:00 p.m., in a Conference Carolinas match at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Shorter, meanwhile, travels to Belmont, N.C., to take one Belmont Abbey next Saturday in league action starting at 1:00 p.m.
