WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team hit a season-high .522 and only committed six attack errors in a 3-0 (25-6, 25-6, 25-12) win over Pfeiffer University on Tuesday night in Wilson Gym.
The Lady Bulldogs (18-7, 13-1) won their 13th straight match after hitting above. 500 in each set as Pfeiffer was held to a -.119 hitting mark behind 17 attack errors and just nine kills.
Senior Kaitlyn Micol led all players with eight kills and hit .500 at the net to go along with seven digs, while Mariana Kedzia, Kelsey Riquelme and Janay Yulis each hit above the .600 mark and recorded six kills apiece.
Junior Miranda Miller had a season-high seven digs and led all players with four service aces, as freshman Sierra Hill totaled a career-high 17 assists in two sets of play.
Barton never trailed in the match, lead 18-2 in the first set after 10 unanswered points. A Micol service ace ended the set with BC on top. The Royal Blue and White once again claimed an early lead in the second set and scored the final 14 points to take a 2-0 lead.
After Pfeiffer tied the match at 5-5 in the third and final set, Barton used a 20-7 run, including a streak of eight unanswered points, to seal the victory.
The Lady Bulldogs hit the road for a contest with Southern Wesleyan University on Friday, Nov. 4 in Central, S.C., before closing out the regular season against North Greenville University in Tigerville, S.C. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.
