PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (10-18) saw its 2025 season end with a 3-1 setback to Shorter (16-13) in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Championship at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court on the campus of UNC Pembroke.
The Bulldogs were the 12th seed in the league tournament while the Hawks were seeded seventh. Shorter would later fall to sixth-seeded UNC Pembroke (17-14), the host school, by a 3-1 score in the second round.
The Hawks were led by Victoria Sparks (Bardstown, Ky.) with 15 kills while Helena Kelly (Jefferson, Ga.) tallied a double-double – 26 assists and 13 digs – as Shorter beat Barton for the second time this year.

Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with a match-high 17 kills to go along with 14 digs and junior setter
Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) chipped in with 32 assists and 10 digs but the Bulldogs saw their four-match winning streak come to an end.
