WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (7-17, 4-13) downed Young Harris (8-17, 5-12), 3-1, in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs won over the Mountain Lions by scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-16.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Lexi Wasil (Prescott, Ariz.) and sophomore outside hitter
Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with 16 and 14 kills, respectively, while McIntyre added 10 digs for a double-double.
Junior setter
Paige Bagwell (Kings Mountain, N.C.) added 37 assists for the Bulldogs, who also totaled 13 service aces in the victory.
Young Harris' Abby Schirm (Lilburn, Ga.) led the visitors with 15 kills but the Mountain Lions suffered their second straight setback.
Barton hits the road to take on league-foe Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C., on Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Young Harris travels to Due West, S.C., to take on Erskine on Wednesday night starting at 6:00 p.m., as well.
