WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College women's volleyball team moved its winning streak to seven straight games with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-17) victory over Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon in Wilson Gymnasium.
The first set of the match was controlled by the Lady Bulldogs from the opening serve as Barton rolled to a 25-11 win after hitting .400 as a team.
Barton and Pfeiffer played to five ties early in the second set before BC scored seven straight points to build a 14-7 lead. The Lady Bulldogs used a 9-0 run to extend the lead to a 13-point edge as a Pfeiffer service error put Barton ahead 2-0 in the match.
The Lady Bulldogs got eight kills from sophomore Stephanie Pingyin in the third and final set, along with three kills apiece from both Kaitlyn Micol and Haley Headley to secure a 25-17 set win and straight-set match victory.
Pingyin led all players with 16 kills and a .433 hitting percentage in the match, while Headley chipped in five kills, three digs and three service aces. Freshman Alexandra Cullens totaled five kills of her own with a .556 hitting percentage to go along with five total blocks.
The Royal Blue and White return to action on Saturday, Oct. 24 hosting University of Mount Olive in Wilson Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
