WILSON, N.C.-Freshman Jorge Pradilla won in both singles and doubles play to pace the Barton College men's tennis team in a 6-3 non-conference loss to Methodist University on Thursday afternoon at the Barton Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs were unable to win for a third straight time slipping to 3-6 overall. The Monarchs departed 10-2 after securing a fourth consecutive victory.
Pradilla teamed up with freshman Eric Simmons to give Barton its only win in doubles. The duo won the third seeded match 8-4.
Senior Pier-Alexandre Desilets and freshman Antoine Massicotte nearly won in the middle draw but eventually fell 9-8 with a 7-4 loss in the tiebreaker.
Pradilla had arguably the most dominating win in the six singles matches winning by matching 6-2 scores in the fourth flight.
The Bogota, Colombia, native has won five straight singles matches and boasts a team-best 6-3 ledger.
Senior Renato Mendes secured the Bulldogs other point with a 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-4 marathon win at No. 3.
Massicotte and freshman Max Leppert both took their respective matches to three sets before being edged by their Methodist counterparts.
Barton will try and bounce back in a Conference Carolinas tilt at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C., on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
