WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (2-15, 2-8) fell to Francis Marion (9-9, 7-4) by a 5-2 score in a Conference Carolinas match Wednesday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Despite the loss, Barton sophomore
Nicola Bottelberghs (Lokoren, BELGIUM) earned victories at first singles and first doubles.
Bottelberghs won three straight matches at first singles but the Bulldogs suffered their seventh consecutive setback.
Barton will host conference newcomer Ferrum on Friday afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m., as part of Senior Day.
Meanwhile, Francis Marion travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., on Saturday afternoon for a league match beginning at 2:00 p.m.
