WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (2-13, 2-7) was bested by Chowan (8-7, 5-4), 4-3, Sunday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Michalak Complex.
The Bulldogs lost the doubles point after leading by a 5-1 score at third doubles in the tiebreaker.
Barton fell despite singles and doubles wins from sophomore
Nicola Bottelberghs (Lokoren, BELGIUM) and junior
Fredrik Foss (Oslo, NORWAY).
The duo also won at first doubles.
Barton returns to the courts on Tuesday when the Bulldogs host North Carolina Wesleyan beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Chowan hits the road to take on Mount Olive on Friday in a league match beginning at 2:00 p.m.
