Barton Head Field Hockey Coach competes in the 2026 World Masters Hockey Indoor World Cup

NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND – Barton Head Women's Field Hockey Coach Colleen Cassada recently participated in the 2026 World Masters Hockey Indoor World Cup at the David Ross Sports Village at the University of Nottingham.

Here is what Coach Cassada had to say about her experience:

"My time at the Masters World Cup is something I will remember for the rest of my life.  To be able to don the red, white, and blue again after so many years is something I will never take for granted. Representing both the United States and Barton College on an international stage was an incredible honor:  one that I carried with a great deal of pride every time I stepped onto the court.

We faced some fierce competition, and while the results didn't fall our way, the experience was invaluable.  I learned so much that will directly impact how I continue to grow as a coach.

Being able to watch, listen, and learn from top European competition gave me new perspectives and ideas that I'm excited to bring back to our program.  Every match was an opportunity to take something away — whether tactically, technically, or culturally — and apply it to what we are building.

Beyond the competition, I was able to make incredible connections with both U.S. and European coaches.  Those relationships will be instrumental as we continue to expand our recruiting reach and elevate Barton Field Hockey on a global level.  This experience wasn't just about competing;  it was about opening doors for our program and continuing to put Barton College on the map internationally.

And on a personal note, I'm proud of how I competed. Stepping into a position outside of my norm, I embraced the challenge and found ways to contribute—recording two defensive saves, four shots on goal, and an assist over five games.

I'm incredibly grateful—for the opportunity, for the experience, and for the chance to represent something bigger than myself
