WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse (0-13, 0-8) fell to No. 7 Lander (11-3, 6-3) Tuesday afternoon in a non-South Atlantic Conference contest at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
For the Bearcats, four players scored including Nienke Meima (Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS). Meima scored the match-winner just 14:12 into the contest and added an assist on the final goal from Lauren Punt (Maasdam, NETHERLANDS) in the fourth period.
Lander, winner of four straight contests, held a 25-1 edge in shots taken while Avery Tworkoski (Bernville, Pa.) earned the victory in goal.
Barton freshman
Bryanna Snowball (Windsor, N.Y.) made 13 saves in goal for the home team despite the loss.
Barton hits the road on Saturday to take on Lincoln Memorial in a conference match in Harrogate, Tenn., beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Lander, meanwhile, travels to Hartsville, S.C., to take on Coker on Saturday, October 25, starting at 4:00 p.m.
