WATCH THE GAME
TIGERVILLE, S.C. – History will be made on Saturday evening when Barton (0-2, 0-0) takes on North Greenville (0-1, 0-0) in the first-ever Conference Carolinas league game. Kickoff at Younts Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Bulldogs will be looking for their first win of the year after falling to West Virginia State, 28-14, last Saturday on the road.
Barton senior quarterback
Trevor Nored (Waldforf, Md.) threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score but the Bulldogs were done in by two interceptions which were returned for touchdowns.
North Greenville looks to bounce back after falling to No. 16 Delta State by a 41-9 score. The Statesmen's quarterback, Kirk Cole (Selmar, Tenn.), passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more scores in the win.
In the coaches preseason poll, the Bulldogs were picked fourth while the Trailblazers were tied for first with UNC Pembroke.
This is the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Barton is headed up by sixth-year mentor
Chip Hester while the Trailblazers are coached by Nate Turner, who is in his first season with North Greenville.
