Barton falls to No. 13 West Alabama Saturday night to wrap up three-game road stand

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Barton football team (0-4) suffered a 52-14 loss to No. 13 West Alabama (4-0) Saturday night at Terry Bunn Field.

West Alabama's quarterback, Spencer Arceneaux (Mobile, Ala.), finished with 370 total yards – 257 passing and 113 rushing – to go along with six total touchdowns (four through the air and two on the ground) to lead the Tigers to the win.

Barton battled early and forced a 14-all tie early in the second quarter but West Alabama took control from there and reeled off 38 straight points to remain unbeaten on the season.

Arceneaux hit Houston Johnson (Ocean Springs, Miss.) for a 38-yard touchdown reception at the 11:20 mark of the second quarter for the game-winning score.

TD Parker (Munford, Ala.) added two touchdown receptions for the Tigers, who finished with 591 yards of total offense in the win.

Barton sophomore running back Jackson Parrish (Graham, N.C.) rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown while junior wideout Luke Smith (Reidsville, N.C.) caught a four-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Al Lee (Reidsville, N.C.) in the losing effort.

Barton has the week off and will not play again until Saturday, October 4, when the Bulldogs host Delta State beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Truist Stadium.  West Alabama, meanwhile, faces North Greenville next Saturday at Noon in Tigerville, S.C.
