EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Barton College's
Chase Waddell has signed a professional baseball contract with the Evansville Otters. Evansville is a member of the Frontier League, the longest continuously operating independent professional baseball league.
Waddell, a four-year starter for the Bulldogs' baseball team, was one of the best players in recent program history.
A native of Lucama, N.C., who played both catcher and first base for Barton, Waddell was a 2025 All-Conference Carolinas and All-Southeast Region honoree by both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
Waddell ranks in the top ten on the Bulldogs' all-time lists in walks (fifth with 95) and runs batted in (eighth in 138).
Waddell was also the starting catcher for the Wilson Tobs, a collegiate summer baseball team. The Tobs captured the 2025 Petitt Cup Championship.
