GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three members of the Barton College baseball team – senior outfielder
Evan Harding (Clayton, N.C.), junior third baseman
Yariel Diaz (Fort Myers, Fla.) and senior catcher
Chase Waddell (Lucama, N.C.) – earned 2025 All-Conference Carolinas honors.
Harding and Diaz were named to the all-league first team while Waddell garnered second-team all-conference laurels.
Harding and Diaz are both tied for the team lead in batting average (.365) while Diaz ranks first on the squad in runs scored (54), hits (77), home runs (nine), runs batted in (58), total bases (122) and slugging percentage (.578). Meanwhile, Harding is second on the squad in runs (49) and home runs (eight).
Waddell earned all-conference honors for the second straight season and is currently batting .339 with three home runs and 48 runs batted in (second-best on the squad). Both Diaz and Waddell have started all 49 games for the Bulldogs this spring.
Barton (29-20), the sixth seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship, takes on third-seeded Belmont Abbey (34-14) in the opening round on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia, N.C.
