WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (8-28) snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 20-3 rout of Virginia State (8-17) Tuesday afternoon at Nixon Field.

Mason McDougall (Tampa, Fla.) hit a pair of two-run home runs while junior outfielder
J.J. Faulkner (Wilmington, N.C.) added a three-run round-tripper as the Bulldogs run-ruled the Trojans.
Barton set a season-high for runs scored while six Bulldogs had at least two hits as the home team finished with 17 hits in the victory.

Dylan Mason (Rolesville, N.C.) (2-3) pitched three innings in relief to earn the win while DeCarlos Nora, III (Beloit, Wisc.) (0-2) was tagged with the loss.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play this Friday when the Bulldogs entertain Southern Wesleyan beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Virginia State hosts Mid-Atlantic Christian in a doubleheader on Friday starting at 3:00 p.m.
