PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (10-32, 7-26) ended the regular season with a Conference Carolinas doubleheader setback to UNC Pembroke (32-16, 21-12), 11-2 and 9-8, Saturday afternoon at Sammy Cox Field.
Game One – UNC Pembroke 11, Barton 2 (seven innings)
The Braves put the game away with early with four runs in both the first and second innings, respectively, while Morgan Padgett (Salisbury, N.C.) and Boone Herman (Hickory, N.C.) both hit two-run home runs as UNC Pembroke picked up the easy victory.
The Braves' C.W. Bayer (Newport, N.C.) (2-0) allowed just two runs in five innings of work to pick up the victory while junior
Mason McDougall (Tampa, Fla.) (1-7) was tagged with the loss for the Bulldogs.

Cameron Greenway (Greenville, N.C.) hit a solo home run in the losing effort.
Game Two – UNC Pembroke 9, Barton 8
The Braves' Jackson Crute (Wendall, N.C.) hit the walk-off, game-winning RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning as UNC Pembroke rallied from a 6-1 deficit to complete the doubleheader sweep of Barton.
Sophomore outfielder
Vincent Santostefano (Chapin, S.C.) hit a three-run home run and finished with five runs batted in but the Bulldogs couldn't hold the five-run advantage.
Crute finished with three hits and two RBI while Padgett totaled two hits and two runs batted in to lead the home team offensively.
UNC Pembroke's Tyler Batten (New Bern, N.C.) (3-1) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the victory while Barton sophomore
Anderson Hanes (Raleigh, N.C.) (0-1) took the loss.
Next up is the 2026 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship which takes place starting on Wednesday, April 29, and running through Sunday, May 3, at CaroMont Health Park and Sims Legion Park in Gastonia, N.C.
