WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (10-29, 7-23) split a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan (15-31, 9-21) Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Nixon Field. The Bulldogs prevailed in the first contest, 13-3, while the Warriors outlasted the Bulldogs in the second game, 16-14.
Game One – Barton 13, Southern Wesleyan 3

Giuseppe Seidita (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) drove in three runs while junior outfielder
Cameron Greenway (Greenville, N.C.) finished with four hits and four runs scored in the triumph.
With the score tied at three-all, the Bulldogs took control by plating 10 straight runs.
Barton sophomore
Brandon Arthur (Belhaven, N.C.) (1-1) pitched four innings of relief to earn his first win of the year while Lukas Arvantides (Bluffton, S.C.) (4-7) suffered the loss for Southern Wesleyan.
The Warriors lost despite solo home runs from Ethan Schimmel (Windsor, Pa.) and Cole Kirschner (Cornelius, N.C.).
Game Two – Southern Wesleyan 16, Barton 14
Kirschner and Nolan Evatt (Liberty, S.C.) both hit grand slams as the Warriors were able to overcome 11 straight runs by the Bulldogs to split the doubleheader.
Greenway hit a grand slam as well and finished with six runs batted in but it wasn't enough for Barton.
Kirschner drove in seven runs and the Warriors used a nine-run seventh inning to take the lead for good.
Southern Wesleyan's Ash Faulk (Columbus, Ga.) improved to 2-2 after earning the win in relief while Caleb Gregory (Simpsonville, S.C.) registered the final out for his second save of the year. Barton junior

Barton hits the road to take on conference-foe UNC Pembroke on Friday in Pembroke, N.C., beginning at 6:00 p.m.
