HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Barton women's golf team finished sixth overall out of 14 schools at the Battle at Hilton Head which concluded Tuesday with the third and final round at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes. The Bulldogs served as the host institution.
The Bulldogs finished with a 953 (+89) on the par-72, 5,934-yard course while second-ranked Wingate took home team honors thanks to a 42-over 906 performance over 54 holes of competition.
Barton was led by sophomore
Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.), who tied for seventh overall with a 228 (+12). Wingate's Amely Bochaton (Evian Les Bains, FRANCE) was the individual medalist after carding five-plus 221.
Barton returns to the links on Monday, March 10, and Tuesday, March 11, at the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, N.C.
