SPARTANBURG, N.C. – The Barton women's golf team finished eighth overall at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championship which wrapped up Tuesday with the third and final round at the Carolina Country Club.
The Bulldogs carded a 980 (+116) on the par-72, 5,816-yard course while Erskine took home team honors thanks to a 908 (+44) over 54 holes of competition.
Barton sophomore
Shelby Herbert (Charlotte Hall, Md.) tied for third overall with a nine-over 225 to earn all-tournament honors as the Bulldogs' top golfer.
The Flying Fleet's Lina Lindqvist (Lahti, FINLAND) was crowned the individual courtesy of a five-over 221 performance.
Erskine earned the automatic bid in the NCAA Division II South Regional Championship which takes place from Monday, May 4, through May 6, at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn.

Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.) was named the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship Builders Services of North Carolina Elite 26 Award. Schmitt also garnered all-tournament accolades after tying for eighth with a 232 (+16).
