WILSON, N.C. - The Barton football team (1-5, 1-1) is looking to keep the momentum going this Saturday when Bulldogs host Chowan (2-4, 1-1) in a Conference Carolinas contest at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
The Bulldogs are coming off their first victory of the season with a 34-20 triumph over Ferrum last Saturday, October 11, in Ferrum, Va.
Barton sophomore running back
Jackson Parrish (Graham, N.C.) rushed for a career-high 218 yards and scored on a 39-yard touchdown run to lead the Bulldogs to the win. Parrish was named the Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
In addition, sophomore quarterback
Al Lee (Reidsville, N.C.) added three total scores – two through the air and one on the ground – while senior wide receiver
Isaiah Jacobs (Raleigh, N.C.) caught both passes for touchdowns to lead Barton as well.
Parrish leads the team in rushing yards (466) and touchdowns (five) while junior linebacker
Keno Jones (Rocky Mount, N.C.) is the team's top tackler with 77 takedowns to go along with three quarterback sacks.
Chowan fell to No. 3 West Florida last week by a 40-10 score on the road in Pensacola, Fla. Hawks quarterback Maurice Smith (Fort Pierce, Fla.) is the team's top passer (987 yards) and rusher (142 yards).
Barton leads the all-time series with Chowan, 3-0, and won last year by a 24-20 score on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in Murfreesboro, N.C.  Chowan is coached by third-year mentor Paul Johnson while
Chip Hester heads up the Bulldogs and has been with the program since its inception in 2020.
