BRISTOL, Tenn. – Barton College's
Terra Schmitt won the 2024 King University Women's Golf Invitational which concluded Tuesday with the second and final round at the Golf Club of Bristol.
Schmitt, a sophomore from Wake Forest, N.C., shot a two-under 140 on the par-71, 6,474-yard course including a final round 68 (-3). Schmitt led the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish with a total score of 626 (+58) while Union (Tenn.) took home team honors with a 617 (+49).
In addition, freshman
Shelby Herbert (Charlotte Hall, Md.) tied for 14th overall for the Bulldogs thanks to a 14-over 156 performance.
Barton next competes at the Pirate Collegiate Classic on Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
