GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Barton men's golf team, ranked No. 24 in NCAA Division II, finished eighth overall at the highly-competitive Mizuno Intercollegiate which concluded Tuesday with the third and final round at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
The Bulldogs totaled a 867 (+3) after 54 holes of competition to tie Carson-Newman.
Tenth-ranked Lee shot a tournament-record 30-under 834 on the par-72, 7,166-yard course including a final round 17-under 271 – also a course record – to beat No. 2 and host institution North Georgia by two strokes. North Georgia's Jack Vajda (Canton, Ga.) was the individual medalist, carding an 11-under 205 after three rounds of play.
Junior
Ryan Jahr (Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.) was the top Bulldogs' competitor, tying for 16th overall with a three-under 213.
Barton travels to Greenville, N.C., to compete in the Ironwood Collegiate Classic on Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, at the Ironwood Golf & Country Club.
