CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Barton women's golf team opened the Fall 2024 season with a third-place finish at the Charleston Invitational which concluded with the second and final round on Tuesday at the Berry Hills Country Club.
The Bulldogs shot a 643 (+83) on the par-70, 5,935-yard course while the host institution, Charleston, took home team honors with a 627 (+67), edging out Glenville State by two strokes.
The Bulldogs were led by sophomore and All-Conference Carolinas performer
Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.), who tied for second overall with a 153 (+13) after 36 holes of play. Emory & Henry's Abby Bradley (Castlewood, Va.) was the individual medalist thanks to a 150 (+10) total over two rounds of competition.
Barton next competes at the King University Invitational on Monday, September 23, and Tuesday, September 24, at the Golf Club of Bristol in Bristol, Tenn.
