INMAN, S.C. – The Barton women's golf team wrapped up the Fall 2024 season with a 10th-place finish at the Converse Invite which concluded with the third and final round at the Woodfin Ridge Golf Club on Tuesday. Converse University served as the host institution.
The Bulldogs carded a 961 (+97) on the par-72, 5,810-yard course while Coker won over Emmanuel in a playoff. The Cobras and the Lions both totaled a 919 (+55) after three rounds of play.
Barton was led by freshman
Shelby Herbert (Charlotte Hall, Md.), who tied for fourth overall with a 222 (+6) over 54 holes of play. Emmanuel's Mara Martinez (Albacete, SPAIN) defeated Young Harris' Tamara Brito (Las Palmas, SPAIN) in a playoff to claim the individual crown. Both players fired a four-over 220 for the tournament.
Barton will open the Spring 2025 campaign on Monday, February 10, and Tuesday, February 11, at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate at The Golf Club at South Hampton in Saint Augustine, Fla.
