GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Barton women's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the Pirate Collegiate Classic at the Greenville Country Club. East Carolina University served as the host institution.
The Bulldogs took 14th overall against mostly NCAA Division I competition with a 638 (+62) on the par-72, 5,991-yard course. The tournament was originally three rounds but was shortened to two due to inclement weather. High Point was the top overall team thanks to a two-under 574 performance.
Barton was led by sophomore
Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.), who tied for ninth overall with a two-over 146 after 36 holes of competition. Radford's Macy Johnson (Salem, Va.) won the tournament with a 136 (-8).
Barton will next host its Fall Intercollegiate on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, at the Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.
