WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (5-1) ran its winning streak to three matches with a 7-0 shutout over Methodist (0-9) Tuesday at the Bulldogs complex.
Five Bulldogs – junior Diego Agudelo (Bogata, COLOMBIA), senior Rory Gaydon (Darlington, ENGLAND), freshmen Philip Nordberg (Mariefred, SWEDEN) and Matteo Savio (Malvern, AUSTRALIA) and sophomore James Kelly (Mazabuka, ZAMBIA) – all picked up victories in singles and doubles action in the victory over the Monarchs.
Savio remained undefeated in singles play this year at 5-0 while Nordberg improved to 5-1 on the season at second singles.
Barton will next hosts Edinboro (Pa.) on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m., while Methodist faces The Citadel on Friday, March 6, at 10:00 a.m., in Spartanburg, S.C.
