Barton men's tennis suffers road setback to Limestone in regular season finale

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (11-9, 6-3) fell to Limestone (10-7, 8-1) by a 6-1 score Monday afternoon in the regular season finale and Conference Carolinas action at Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs did prevail at second singles thanks to junior Rory Gaydon (Darlington, ENGLAND) and third doubles courtesy of sophomore Alessandro Gerbino (Borlange, SWEDEN) and freshman James Kelly (Mazabuka, ZAMBIA). 

Gerbino and Kelly improved to 4-1 in its last five matches at No. 3 doubles with a victory over Limestone's Domantas Sadauskas (Kaunas, LITHUANIA) and Enrique Moreno (Malaga, SPAIN) by a score of 6-0.

The Barton men's tennis team will be seeded fourth in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Championship and will take on fifth-seeded Emmanuel (Ga.) in the quarterfinal round on Friday, April 26, at Sumter, S.C., at the Palmetto Tennis Center beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Limestone is the regular season co-champions along with Mount Olive.
