WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (13-6, 5-2) shut out North Greenville (7-14, 3-5), 7-0, in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday morning at the Michalak Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs, ranked No. 44 in NCAA Division II, were led by a pair of Bulldogs who prevailed in both singles and doubles action: senior
Hannes Tylehed (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and junior
Felipe Mioch (Diemen, NETHERLANDS).
Meanwhile, Barton senior
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN) improved to 16-1 in singles action with his 16th straight triumph, a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Trailblazers' Juan Jose Arbelaez (Cali, COLOMBIA) at No. 4.
Barton hits the road to take on rival Mount Olive in a league match on Tuesday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m., while North Greenville faces Converse in Spartanburg, S.C., next Saturday, April 12, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
