WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (12-6, 4-2), ranked No. 47 in NCAA Division II, defeated Lees-McRae (9-6, 3-3), 5-2, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day in a Conference Carolinas match at the Michalak Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs won their second straight contest behind the play of seniors
Hannes Tylehed (Stockholm, SWEDEN) and
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN), who both won at singles and doubles' play.
Holgersson's victory over Lees-McRae's Ezequiel Arce (Luque, PARAGUAY), 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles pushed his record in singles' play to 15-1 on the year.
Barton hosts North Greenville next Saturday, April 5, in a conference match beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Lees-McRae hosts league-foe Francis Marion on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
