MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton men's tennis team (15-7, 7-3), ranked No. 42 in NCAA Division II, closed out the Conference Carolinas portion of its schedule with a 7-0 road victory over Chowan (2-14, 0-10) Wednesday afternoon at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.
A trio of Bulldogs – junior
Felipe Mioch (Deimen, NETHERLANDS), senior
Johan Holgersson (Bromma, SWEDEN) and freshman
Daniel Lopez (Palma De Mallorca, SPAIN) – won at singles and doubles to lead Barton to the win.
Holgersson won his 19th consecutive match in singles action with a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Chowan's Tadeo Sanchez (Tucuman, ARGENTINA).
Barton hosts Mary Washington on Monday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m., in the regular season finale.
