CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Julian Bosch collected a doubles victory and a singles victory in Barton's 6-1 loss to NCAA Division I opponent UNC Charlotte on Saturday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
One point is awarded in doubles against NCAA Division I competition, and UNC Charlotte earned that point by claiming wins in two of the three matchups. Barton's freshman duo of Bosch and Alexandre Alves were able to defeat UNCC's No. 3 doubles team by a score of 7-6 (7-5) to give BC positive momentum.
In singles competition, the 49ers clinched the match with five separate wins, while Bosch was a 6-3, 6-4 winner in the No. 1 spot.
The Bulldogs conclude the season with an 11-8 overall record and a 7-3 record in Conference Carolinas play with the postseason tournament scheduled for the weekend of April 21-23 in Sumter, S.C. at The Palmetto Tennis Center.
Barton will be the tournament's No. 4 overall seed and matchup against No. 5 seed King University in the opening round of play.
