MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had an outstanding performance at The Trojan Relays which wrapped up Saturday at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Sports Complex on the campus of the University of Mount Olive.
Barton junior
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) won both the women's 100-meter (11.74) and 200-meter (24.10) dashes and was part of the women's 400-meter relay which took first place with a time of 46.86 seconds. Joining Heckstall on the winning relay squad was freshmen
Erica Harrell (Greenville, N.C.) and
Angel Agyeman (Greensboro, N.C.) and junior
Keiarra Tutt (Bayboro, N.C.) for the Bulldogs.
On the men's side, Barton's 400-meter relay team – featuring sophomores
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Jordan Bobbitt (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and freshmen
Cameron Walker (Thomasville, N.C.) and
Valentino Mark (Asheboro, N.C.) – also took first place in 41.10 seconds.
Barton freshman
Nolan Gamwell (Stantonsburg, N.C.) won the men's 10,000-meter run in 33:53.48 while Bobbitt took second place in the men's 200-meter dash (21.75).
The Barton track and field teams next compete in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
