WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had a couple of strong finishes this past weekend at the Seahawk Invitational on the campus of the UNC Wilmington at the Greene Track and Field Complex.
The Bulldogs had a trio of second-place finishes. On the women's side, Barton junior
Keiarra Tutt (Bayboro, N.C.) finished runner-up in the women's 100-meter dash (11.99) while junior
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) took second in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.51 seconds.
In the men's competition, freshman
Zaccheaus Carmack (Plymouth, N.C.) finished second in the men's triple jump (47'1") for Barton.
The Bulldogs had a trio of fourth-place finishes as well: freshman
Iyana Coats (Knightdale, N.C.) in the women's high jump (4'11"), sophomore
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) in the men's 200-meter dash (21.70) and freshman
Darion Drye, Jr. (Kannapolis, N.C.) in the men's discus (156'0").
The Barton men's and women's 400-meter relay teams also took third (42.35) and fourth (48.15) place, respectively.
The Barton outdoor track teams will next compete in the Phoenix Invitational at the Jerry and Jeanne Roberston Track and Field Complex in Elon, N.C., on Friday, March 14.
