VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Barton men's and women's outdoor track and field came away with several first-place finishes at the Virginia Beach Spring Break Invitational which took place this weekend at Betty S. Rogers Track and Field Center. Virginia Wesleyan University served as the host institution.
The Bulldogs were led by junior
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C), who won three individual events: the women's 100-meter dash (12.01), women's 200-meter dash (24.42) and women's long jump (18'5").
Heckstall also won the women's 100-meter and 200-meter dash races last Friday at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, N.C.
Barton sophomore
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) took first in the men's 100-meter (10.69) and 200-meter (21.77) dashes as well while sophomore
Jordan Bobbitt (Rocky Mount, N.C.) was runner-up in both races with times of 10.88 and 22.04 seconds, respectively.
The Bulldogs also had two other runner-up men's finishes: freshman
Nolan Gamwell (Stantonsburg, N.C.) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:38.20) and freshman
Zseven Tookes (Wendell, N.C.) in the high jump (5'9").
Barton next competes at The Trojan Relays which take place on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, at the Ray McDonald, Sr., Sports Complex on the campus of the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C.
