WILSON, N.C. – Barton College has announced its 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Class, which includes Andy Borland, Melissa Cochran, Daniel Colvin and Tyler Petty.  The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2025, inside Hardy Alumni Hall on campus and the group will be honored during the Barton men's and women's basketball doubleheader against King at Wilson Gymnasium.

Borland, a 1963 graduate of Atlantic Christian College, played two years of men's tennis but was known for his accomplishments as both a Head Coach and Director of Athletics in high school.

Borland served nearly 35 years as an educator, four-sport coach and athletics director at Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Md.  As Director of Athletics for nearly 20 years, Severna Park won 43 state championships including the first indoor track and field title in 1973.  Borland has been inducted into numerous Hall of Fames including Maryland High School Football Coaches (1999) and the Severna Park High School (2003) as part of its inaugural class.

Cochran, a 2015 graduate of Barton, was one of the best women's volleyball players the Bulldogs have had in recent memory.  Cochran played in all 385 sets during her four-year stint with Barton and was a two-time All-Conference Carolinas honoree including a first-team selection as a senior.

In addition, Cochran was the 2011 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and a three-time Team MVP and finished with over 1,000 kills in her collegiate career.  Cochran ranks fourth all-time in school history in blocks (375) and tenth in kills (1,144).

Colvin, a 1992 graduate of Barton College, was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs' men's basketball team, averaging in double figures and graduating as the school's all-time leader in three-pointers made.

Colvin also served three years as an Assistant Coach for the Bulldogs' men's basketball team and over 20 years as an assistant for the women's squad.  Colvin made his mark as a key contributor to the success of the Barton's women's basketball team, helping guide the program to 12 20-win seasons, seven conference regular season championships, three league tournament titles and 10 NCAA Division II Playoff berths.

Colvin also served as Principal at Rocky Mount High School in Rocky Mount, N.C., and was an Associate Head Coach at Craven Community College and a long-time girls coach in the AAU ranks.

Petty, a 2006 Barton graduate, was a four-year letter winner on the Bulldogs' baseball team who remains the school's all-time leader in home runs (55) and slugging percentage (.656).  Petty helped lead the Bulldogs to the Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championship in 2006.

Petty is a three-time all-conference honoree (2004-06) including a first-team selection in 2005 and 2006.  Petty, an all-region pick as well, currently ranks fifth in runs scored (172), sixth in total hits (236), second in triples (12) and third in total bases (464) and runs batted in (209) on the Bulldogs' career lists.
