WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton College Indoor Track and Field Teams had a strong showing at the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational which took place on Sunday at the JDL Fast Track.
Barton junior
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) tied her own school record (7.62 seconds) after finishing second in the women's 60-meter finals. Heckstall also took fifth in the women's seeded 200-meter dash (25.89) while freshman
Evet Jones (Lawrenceville, Ga.) placed seventh in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 26.94 seconds for the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, Barton junior
Keiarra Tutt (Bayboro, N.C.) ran the women's 400-meter dash in 1:01.10 seconds, good for sixth overall.
On the men's side, Barton sophomore
Jordan Bobbitt (Rocky Mount, N.C.) led the Bulldogs with a third-place finish in the men's 60-meter dash (6.85 seconds) while senior
Justin Copper (High Point, N.C.) also had a top 10 finish: eighth in the seeded 400-meter dash (51.73).
In the field events, Barton freshman
Zaccheaus Carmack (Plymouth, N.C.) took sixth place in the men's triple jump (45'8").
The Barton indoor track and field teams next compete in the Betty S. Rogers Invitational on Sunday, February 9, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
