CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at the Dick Taylor Challenge on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Eddie Smith House.
On the men's side, sophomore
Jordan Bobbitt (Rocky Mount, N.C.) placed third overall in the 60-meter dash (6.85) while sophomore
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) ran a school-record 6.84 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash for the Bulldogs. The time also qualified Lee for the Conference Carolinas Championship.
Meanwhile, Barton freshmen
Zaccheaus Carmack (Plymouth, N.C.) and
Zseven Tookes (Wendell, N.C.) took sixth (44'1") and seventh (43'5") place in the men's triple with Tookes earning a qualifying time to the league finals in the event.
In the women's competition, Barton junior
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) was the top competitor with a sixth-place finish in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.67 seconds.
The Barton indoor track and field teams next compete in the JDL Flat is Fast on Sunday, January 26, at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
