GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Barton men's golf team finished in ninth place at the 2024 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Championship Saturday with the third and final round at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
The Bulldogs, ranked No. 15 in the nation, totaled an 880 (+16) on the par-72, 7,166-yard course while top-ranked North Georgia earned the regional championship thanks to a nine-under 855 after 54 holes of competition.
Barton was led by senior
Harrison Wierse (Wilmington, N.C.) who tied for fifth overall after a two-under 214 performance. North Georgia's Jack Vajda (Canton, Ga.) was the individual medalist after carding an eight-under 208.
No. 20 Coker, No. 8 Lee, No. 9 West Florida and Wingate rounded out the top five to advance to the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship which takes place from Tuesday, May 21, through Saturday, May 25, at the Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Fla.
Nova Southeastern's Joseba Torres (Hondarribia, SPAIN) and Tyler Mistretta (North Palm Beach, Fla.) finished second and third, respectively, to qualify to the finals individually.
