Barton men’s golf punches ticket to the 2024 NCAA D-II South/Southeast Regional Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Barton men's golf team, ranked No. 17 in the nation, earned an automatic qualifying bid to the 2024 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional Championship. 

The regionals will be held at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga., from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May 11.  The University of North Georgia will serve as the host school.

The Bulldogs earned the berth after capturing the Conference Carolinas Championship this past week at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.  Barton is making its third straight appearance in the regionals.

In addition to the league championship, the Bulldogs also won the Barton Fall Intercollegiate (Oct. 16-17 in Snow Hill, N.C.), the Barton Spring Clash (Feb. 26-27 in Pawleys Island, S.C.) and The Trojan (April 8-9 in Goldsboro, N.C.).

The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship which takes place from Tuesday, May 21, through Saturday, May 25, at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida.  The finals will be hosted by Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
