SALISBURY, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's track and field teams had a pair of individual victories this past weekend at Livingstone University's Blue Bear Invitational at Alumni Memorial Stadium.
Barton freshman
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) won the men's 100-meter dash for the second straight meet, clocking in at 10.72 seconds. Meanwhile, sophomore
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland, N.C.) took home top honors in the women's long jump (18'1") for the Bulldogs.
Barton sophomore
Keiarra Tutt (Pamlico, N.C.) and Heckstall took sixth and seventh in the women's 200-meter dash with times of 24.94 and 24.98 seconds, respectively, while senior
Katie Hansen (Elizabeth City, N.C.) took tenth place in the women's 1,500-meter run (5:20.84).
Barton had a pair of top-ten finishes in the men's 200-meter dash: sixth place from freshman
Jordan Bobbitt (Rocky Mount, N.C.) with a time of 22.18 seconds and tenth place from junior
Justin Copper (High Point, N.C.) in 22.43 seconds.
Lee, Copper and Bobbitt and sophomore
Gabrel Morrison (Concord, N.C.) made up the men's 1,600-meter relay for the Bulldogs which took third place with a time of 3:19.83 seconds.
Two seventh-place finishes on the men's side for Barton came from senior
Chase Eaton (Wilson, N.C.) in the 400-meter hurdles (59.48) and junior
Adam Casey (Princeton, N.C.) in the 3,000-meter run (10:37.24).
Meanwhile, Barton freshman
Jacob Oliver (Winchester, Va.) had two top-ten finishes: eighth in the men's 800-meter run (2:07.05) and ninth in the men's 1,500-meter run (4:20.51).
The Barton track teams are back in action on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6, at the VertKlasse Meeting at Dick Vert Stadium in High Point, N.C.
