WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up competition Monday at the 2024 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships at the JDL Fast Track.
The women's squad finished eighth overall while Converse won its first-ever league title. The Bulldogs' men's squad took tenth place and Mount Olive captured its 10th conference championship overall including eighth straight league crown.
Barton sophomore
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) earned all-league accolades after taking third place in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 25.59 seconds. Heckstall also took fifth in the women's 60-meter dash (7.79).
On the men's side, Barton freshman
Jaiden Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) took fourth place in the 200-meter dash (22.01) and senior
Braxton Fontaine (Rumford, R.I.) was fourth in the men's long jump (22'1").
Meanwhile, senior
Chase Eaton (Wilson, N.C.) finished in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.37 seconds.
The Barton track and field squads will begin the outdoor portion of its schedule on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, April 2, at UNC Wilmington's Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, N.C.
