Barton College names Lorran Antonelli permanent Head Men’s Soccer Coach

WILSON, N.C. – Barton College has removed the interim title from Head Men's Soccer Coach Lorran Antonelli, school officials announced today.  Antonelli is now the program's permanent head coach.

"Coach Lo (Antonelli) did a great job this season and has earned this promotion," said Ken Tyler, Barton Vice President and Director of Athletics.  "I'm confident that our men's soccer program is in good hands under his leadership."

Under his interim status this fall season, Antonelli led the Bulldogs to a 7-5-2 overall record, a 4-4-2 mark in Conference Carolinas play and a No. 4 seed in the league championship.

Antonelli played four seasons (2016-19) on the Barton College men's soccer team and was a member of the Dean's List while graduating in 2020.

As a center back, Antonelli was a two-year all-league honoree and garnered all-state honors in 2019.  A two-time team Most Valuable Player as well, Antonelli earned his MBA from Barton in 2021.

Antonelli, a native of Campinas, Brazil, has been on the Bulldogs' coaching staff for the past four years.
