WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's indoor track and field teams had a pair of individual victories at the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational Sunday at the JDL Fast Track.
Barton freshman
Kaeden Martin (Clayton, N.C.) won the men's 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.40 while sophomore
Aniya Heckstall (Scotland Neck, N.C.) placed first in the women's long jump with a school-record 18'3".
The Bulldogs also had a pair of second-place finishes: senior
Chase Eaton (Wilson, N.C.) in the men's 60-meter hurdles (8.57) and sophomore
Gabrel Morrison (Concord, N.C.) in the men's 800-meter dash (2:02.93).
In addition, Barton freshman
Jaidan Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) took third place in the men's 60-meter dash (6.99) and men's 200-meter dash (23.11).
Junior
Justin Copper (High Point, N.C.) ran the men's 400-meter dash in 52.23 seconds to take fourth overall while senior
Braxton Fontaine's (Rumford, R.I.) men's long jump of 21'7" was good for fourth place as well for the Bulldogs. Fontaine also placed fifth in the men's high jump (5'10") while senior teammate
Jacquez Durham (Clayton, N.C.) placed fifth as well in the men's 60-meter dash (7.01 seconds).
The Bulldogs' women's squad also had a pair of top ten finishes: senior
Katie Hansen (Elizabeth City, N.C.) was ninth in the 3,000-meter run (11:43.36) and sophomore
Keiarra Tutt (Pamlico, N.C.) was eighth in the 60-meter dash (8.08).
The Barton indoor track and field teams return to action on Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27, at the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
