BELLE VERNON, Pa. – The Barton women's golf team opened the Fall 2023 campaign this past weekend at the Vulcan Invitational, hosted by California University of Pennsylvania, at the Cedarbrook Golf Course.
The Bulldogs carded a 682 (+114) on the par-71, 5,936-yard course while Alvernia won the event with a 54-over 632 over 36 holes of play.
Barton was led by freshman
Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.), who tied for fourth overall with a 157 (+15). Meanwhile, California's Keegan Selinsky (Bolivar, Ohio) won over Bloomsburg's Olivia Martinez (Bellevue, Ohio) in a playoff to earn medalist honors. Both players shot a 155 (+13).
Barton next competes in Ohio Dominican University's Champions of Women's Golf Classic in Columbus, Ohio, at the Champions Golf Course on Saturday, September 16, and Sunday, September 17.
